Warren A. James

Warren James has more than 25 years of experience in real estate development and homebuilding, and has been involved in the direction of more than $1 billion in real estate development activity. As a principal of REVA Development Partners, James focuses on entitlements, financing and construction management. Prior to forming REVA Development Partners with Matt Nix in 2011, James spent more than two decades as a principal at Edward R. James Homes, where he managed and directed many of the firm’s high-profile projects throughout suburban Chicago.

While with Edward R. James Homes, Warren was instrumental in creating the IMPACT system, a proprietary integrated operating system used to manage all facets of the development and homebuilding process. In 2001, he capitalized on his development and technical expertise by launching a consulting division of Edward R. James Homes that utilized the IMPACT system to provide integrated solutions to third-party development clients. James and his team successfully handled the selections and project management for the interior build-out of multiple award-winning, large-scale projects, including Grant Park, a 27-story condominium building, and The Carlyle, a 39-story condominium development, both located in Minneapolis.

James, who received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Illinois, began his career with Illinois Tool Works, a Fortune 200 company that manufactures engineering equipment and systems. Working in engineering sales, his clients included such major corporations as IBM, Motorola and RCA.

James is a licensed Illinois real estate managing broker as well as a commercial pilot. He draws upon his nearly three decades of aviation experience to bring consistent practices to the real estate development business. His professional affiliations include the National Homebuilders Association, Urban Land Institute, Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association and Experimental Aircraft Association.

James lives in Winnetka, Illinois, with his wife and three children.
