As parents across the Chicagoland area prepare to send their children back to school, some may be grappling with the thought of relocating to a better school district. Although the Chicagoland area has some of the top nationally ranked schools, homes located in the highly ranked public school districts come with a price tag. So instead of paying top dollar for a home, many families are opting to rent – choosing the best education for their kids over the “American Dream” of owning a home.

Located in the highly sought-after Stevenson High School district, The Oaks of Vernon Hills, a newly constructed 336-unit rental community in Vernon Hills, includes nine three-story, apartment buildings and 48 rowhomes configured in a series of pocket communities. The 288 apartment flats include one-bed/one-bath layouts, some of which include a den, and two-bed/two-bath plans measuring 696 to 1,212 square feet. Each garden-style building is served by an elevator and also includes attached garages. The rowhomes, measuring 1,487 to 1,800 square feet, offer two or three bedrooms with 2½ baths and an attached two-car garage. Rents range from under $1,500 for apartment flats to $2,850 for rowhomes.
